Mount Coolum

The best of both worlds.

Here you’ll get the best of both worlds – a coastal lifestyle within walking distance to some of Australia’s best beaches, and the peace and quiet of a community framed by one of this country’s most iconic geographic features and national park. Mount Coolum is a suburb that’s hard to miss, firstly because of the imposing mountain itself; a giant monolithic volcano dome raising out of coastal grasslands taking its name from the aboriginal Kabi word without or wanting and secondly, because of the quality of properties and lifestyle to be found here. Everywhere you look, beautiful contemporary family homes with manicured lawns and magnificent Australian native and tropical gardens.

There is absolutely no ‘wanting’ here.

Historically know as Half-Way Lump because of its central location on what is now known as the Sunshine Coast, Mount Coolum is a suburb that’s hard to beat – for quality, affordable properties set in an amazing natural landscape. How many people can boast living in or around a national park? This is a great place to raise the family. You are surrounded by amazing recreation facilities; parks, gardens, golf courses and the mountain itself. The beach is just a short walk (or an even shorter drive) away.

The population of Mount Coolum is 4,500. Here you’ll find a mix of young and mature families as well as retirees downsizing to suit the coastal lifestyle. This is reflected in the properties in Mount Coolum. In the main, these are family homes on generous size blocks to accommodate active, growing families. There are also a number of apartment and town-house developments suited to smaller families, retired couples as well attracting a growing number of investors who are recognising the potential of this unique suburb.
